Plans for Vallila business campus has been approved.
The approval of the 14 500 sq m building marks an important milestone in our development of the campus and contribution to enhance the Vallila business district.
The International real estate company is creating a future-proof sustainable and energy efficient building. Designed by Tengbom, it features distinctive clean and contemporary architecture. With large 2,000 sq m floorplates and generous 3m floor-to-ceiling heights, it is designed to the latest LEED Platinum environmental standard, with a focus on occupational flexibility and employee well-being.
Strategically located just north of Helsinki’s central business district, this rapidly evolving area is an important focus of the City of Helsinki’s growth and economic strategy – to create a business district super hub.
Kristin Willerström, Regional Director, Nordics comments: ‘At Pembroke, we always strive to use our global best practices to help us work smarter and meet the unique needs of our local markets, assets and tenants. This approval is an important milestone for our long-term commitment in Helsinki and corresponds with the City of Helsinki’s visions for urban development and growth. Over the past 4 years Pembroke has worked closely with the City of Helsinki, and this cooperation has helped to ensure that the design and expression of the new building reflects its priorities and economic ambition for the area. The new building contributes to the Vallila neighborhood and the city from day one.’
After four years leading the asset management in the Nordics, Kristin Willerström recently assumed the role of Regional Director, Nordics, overseeing our operations in Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki. This is part of Pembroke’s new regional leadership model, strengthening their development expertise, to support 140 000 sq m global pipeline of development.
To further strengthen our development capabilities and commitment to Helsinki, it has recently hired Dan Perkins, Senior Director, Development. Dan brings over 25 years of international real estate experience and is leading our development of the Vallila business campus.
Pembroke is targeting the highest LEED Platinum classification, the benchmark for the next generation of green buildings, driving meaningful reductions in GHG emissions associated with building construction and operations, and putting a stronger emphasis on human health and wellbeing.
Dan Perkins, Senior Director Development added: ‘We are very proud to receive building permit approval for our latest building. This LEED Platinum office building showcases Pembroke’s ability to deliver a class-leading flexible, spacious and healthy workspace in any market it operates. We are happy to work closely with Nordea to ensure the future well-being and comfort of its employees, in what will be a reference building in Helsinki’s office market.’
